The Patient Care Pavilion contains 185 medical/surgical, critical care and obstetrical beds, new and expanded facilities for dietary and clinical lab functions, and a 600-seat cafeteria and kitchen. In the obstetrical-maternity area are 10 labor, delivery, and recovery rooms, a specially-equipped Caesarian section delivery room, a postpartum suite, and a newborn nursery with skylight.
In 2001, the Patient Care Pavilion underwent a three level addition atop the original building which provided two new patient floors and one new mechanical floor above the existing penthouse mechanical floor, while maintaining the original six floors of the building in continuous operation. The addition included a state-of-the-art bone marrow transplant unit, an ICU step-down unit, and two new medical/surgical patient care units.
